Multidrug resistance Enterococcus Faecalis isolated from patients with urinary tract infections

چکیده

Background: Globally, urinary tract infections (UTIs) constitute the most prevalent health issue. UTIs are challenging to cure due emergence of antibiotics resistant bacterial strains. This research aimed determine incidence UTIs, identify causative bacteria, and evaluate antibiotic resistance profile genes in Enterococcus faecalis. Materials methods: In this study, twenty E. faecalis isolates from patients with infection were identified; phenotypic genotypic characteristics investigated Al-Najaf City, Iraq. Results: The data revealed different rates starting high rate (65%) which Nalidixic acid (60%) Ciprofloxacin Tetracycline. then ends lower (20%) have Imipenem Fosfomycine. At same respect, all displayed multi drug (MDR). Antibiotics bla-tem, emeA gyrA found 100%, 95% 55% isolates, respectively. However, explained that none was entirely working against isolates. Conclusion: All exhibited (MDR), potent imipenem fosfomycin.

Ciprofloxacin Resistance in Enterococcus faecalis Strains Isolated From Male Patients With Complicated Urinary Tract Infection

PURPOSE Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most prevalent bacterial infections, and fluoroquinolone therapy is a well-known standard regimen for UTI. The prevalence and risk factor analysis of fluoroquinolone resistance in enterococcal UTIs are not well documented. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial susceptibility and risk factors for ciprofloxacin resistance in En...

Enterococcus faecalis Isolates Clinically Isolated from Urinary Tract

25 26 We examined E. faecalis strains clinically isolated from 100 UTI patients for their 27 susceptibility to levofloxacin (LVX) by measuring the minimal inhibitory concentration 28 (MIC), and investigated amino acid mutations by direct DNA sequencing which was 29 then correlated with LVX resistance. Next we studied risk factors for LVX resistance 30 such as age, sex, and previous fluoroquinol...

Antibiotic Resistance in Enterococcus faecalis Isolated from Hospitalized Patients

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Enterococci are Gram-positive cocci that often occur in pairs (diplococci) or short chains. Be-side developing high level of antibiotic resistance, these bacteria can cause wide range of disease in human, thus to help provide an effective treatment for infections caused by this genus, this study was conceived to provide information on Enterococcus faecalis Antibiotic resista...

Anti-Microbial Resistance of Enterococci Isolated from Urinary Tract Infections in Iran

Background: During the last decade, enterococci have become important nosocomial pathogens, representing the second leading cause of urinary tract infections. This increasing prevalence has been paralleled by the occurrence of multi-drug resistant (MDR) and high-level gentamicin resistant (HLGR) strains. Methods: From September 2005 to 2006, a total of 638 enterococcal isolates were collected ...

molecular detection of antibiotic resistance genes among enterococcus faecalis isolated from fecal and urine samples of patients with community-acquired urinary tract infections

conclusions the simultaneous detection of e. faecalis in a patient’s gastrointestinal and urine tracts can indicate the presence of uropathogenic enterococcus. further study is essential to identify virulence factors involved in the colonization of these isolates in the urinary tract. background urinary tract infection (uti) is one of the most common bacterial infections in outpatient settings....
